Accessory islands
& CIP

water filtration and bottling

At an early stage, STONE Industrie identified the integration of the water filtration function as a key element in the operation and sustainability of a high-speed bottling line. This experience combined with a real command of filtration  and rinsing water treatment equipment, is a true asset for our clients.

In addition, the reduction in water consumption generated by its reuse is in line with the need for economy as well as an ecological approach.

Accessory island with Cleaning In Place (CIP) on fixed lines

The accessory island groups all accessories (vacuum pumps, sensors, valves) and the CIP for the monobloc. This island has been designed for accessibility and user-friendliness.. It is composed of the following elements.

The essential element: CIP

CIP, Cleaning In Place, is an automatic cleaning and sterilisation device for the rinser and filler with the option of a delayed start. It is the main element of the accessory island. The CIP unit is fully manufactured in 316L stainless steel and incorporates two chemical dosing pumps complemented by two chemical retention tanks. For example, this enables cleaning to be processed in automatic mode with a soda base, and sterilisation with a peracetic acid base or hot water.

For automatic management, the unit has a radar-type float for level management, a vane pump to enable the product to be conveyed under pressure into the rinser or filler and a set of pilot valves to ensure good automatic regulation.

A water filtration system adapted to each need

The water filtration system, available as standard with our rinsing modules consists of two bayonet filters (1 and 0.45 µ) to filter the running water before it enters the rinsing circuit.

A set of calibrated pressure gauges checks the upstream and downstream pressure. An analogue pressure switch checks the injection pressure on the rinsing machine and displays the threshold values on a digital screen. If the water recycling option is chosen, a control flow meter, activated carbon filter or UV unit can be added as an option.

Complete bottling line device

A complete system on all our fixed bottling lines

All STONE Industrie high speed lines include the water recycling option if the filling machine CIP option is selected, the CIP tank will then serve as a recycling tank. In flushing mode, the CIP tank also serves as storage for the flushed product. The CIP tank and the accessory island are standard, the product recycling system is optional.

The accessory island can be equipped with 3 pumps for the following 3 functions (one pump per function).

  • Droplet aspiration on the rinser
  • De-aeration of the inert gas unit before injection of neutral gas (if the inert gas option is chosen)
  • De-aeration of the capper
  • Dust removal from the corks (optional)

The capper vacuum pump and inert gas unit vacuum pump on the accessory island each have a filter and manual flow adjustment. For the traditional cork vacuum, the adjustment can be carried out on the front of the machine.

The accessory island also includes a stainless steel electric panel that communicates with the general panel via a network (IP communication protocol).

The product supply and discharge piping and the automatic control valves for this assembly are grouped together on the accessory island. A nitrogen inlet is also included for nitrogen pushes in the filler end-of-batch mode. Temperature sensors monitor the temperature of the filler product and the sterilisation product and record it during the cycle for traceability. The accessory island also integrates the analogue pressure switch for pressure control and the optional analogue flow meter for flow control in the rinser, the analogue flow meter for nitrogen flow control in the dosing unit and screw capper, pressure regulators and pressure gauges, etc.

Other monobloc options are available to complement your water filtration system, so as to save water as well as to carry out rinsing operations in a healthier and more controlled manner. Examples include:

  • A flow meter to control the rinsing product injection rate
  • Nitrogen blowing on the rinser
  • A flushing device on the rinser with recycling of the flushed product
  • An anti-chlorine filter on the water inlet
